Most quinceañeras start with a Thanksgiving Mass, then move to the reception for the traditions families plan around: the formal entrance with the court, the waltz, the changing of the shoes and the presentation of the last doll.
What to plan for
- Leave real travel time between the church and the hall. Photos on the church steps always take longer than planned.
- The court needs a rehearsal slot and a place to line up out of guests' sight before the entrance.
- Give the DJ the exact song order for the waltz, the father-daughter dance and the surprise dance.
- Big families mean long dinner service. Buffets for 250 guests often need an hour.
